Purefect Connector: connect legacy systems and reactivate existing value

Learn how Connector and metadata modeling turn existing enterprise systems into understandable, composable, governable capabilities for people and AI.

Critical enterprise capabilities are often distributed across ERP, supply chain, finance, production, customer systems, custom applications, and historical databases. These systems contain years of data, rules, and operating knowledge, yet their interfaces and meanings are fragmented and difficult to reuse in new collaboration and AI scenarios.

Purefect does not require a wholesale replacement. Purefect Connector connects existing systems, data, and services; metadata modeling restores business meaning; Purefect Platform provides the runtime and governance boundary. Together, they turn isolated legacy systems into assets that can keep contributing to business innovation.

Connector reconnects systems. Metadata makes business understandable. Platform keeps capabilities trusted. AI turns existing strengths into new value.

Why enterprises need a unified connection layer

Point-to-point integration may solve one connection, but complexity grows with every system and scenario. The same data is integrated repeatedly, identity and permission rules diverge, business meaning remains buried in code, and AI cannot reliably determine what it may use.

A unified connection layer helps enterprises preserve stable core systems, reduce intrusive change, reuse data and services across applications, apply consistent governance to people and digital employees, and modernize progressively.

What Purefect Connector is

Purefect Connector is the connection capability of Purefect Platform, not a separate integration silo. It establishes managed connections to existing systems, data sources, and external services, then makes those connections available to business models, services, and SmartFlow processes.

Target systems can continue operating as they do today. Purefect builds understandable and composable business capabilities around them, allowing each modernization decision to follow measurable business value.

How Connector and metadata work together

Connectivity answers whether something can be reached. Metadata explains what the data means, who an action is for, and which business objects it affects.

Metadata defines the meaning and relationships of orders, customers, inventory, organizations, states, and actions. Connector brings existing capabilities into that semantic context. SmartFlow then organizes service calls, decisions, approvals, and human collaboration into operating processes.

The resulting capabilities become:

  1. Understandable to business teams, systems, and AI.
  2. Composable across applications, processes, and new scenarios.
  3. Governable through identity, permission, workflow, and audit.
  4. Evolvable without replacing the entire system estate at once.

How AI uses existing capabilities

AI creates business outcomes only when it can work with real enterprise capabilities. Open connection, however, does not mean open permission.

Purefect gives AI the necessary business semantics and approved tools. Digital employees query information, prepare recommendations, or request actions within a defined identity, role, data scope, and process. Critical writes and high-risk actions continue to follow enterprise approval and audit requirements.

Connector and Purefect MCP

They address two directions of connection:

  • Purefect Connector connects downward to existing systems, data sources, and external services.
  • Purefect MCP connects upward so compatible AI tools can discover documentation, understand models, and invoke approved Purefect capabilities.

Together, AI enters the enterprise boundary through MCP and reaches real systems through business services, SmartFlow, and Connector. Models can change while enterprise controls remain stable.

Representative scenarios

  • Legacy system renewal: retain stable core systems while enabling new portals, mobile experiences, workflows, and AI scenarios.
  • Cross-system collaboration: organize queries, decisions, approvals, and actions from several systems into one governed process.
  • Digital employees at work: assemble cross-system context, draft business work, detect exceptions, and invoke approved services after required confirmation.
  • Progressive modernization: modernize high-change modules first and reuse every validated connection, model, and workflow in adjacent areas.

Keeping open connections within bounds

Purefect brings connection capability under shared governance instead of letting each application manage access independently. Organizations can define scope by role, digital employee, and scenario; require confirmation or approval for critical actions; and retain the required runtime and audit evidence.

Connection configuration and credentials are managed under enterprise controls. The feasible integration scope still depends on the target interface, data quality, security policy, and network conditions.

A progressive adoption path

  1. Select one bounded scenario with measurable value.
  2. Identify the existing data, rules, and services to preserve.
  3. Establish the minimum necessary connections and add business meaning through metadata.
  4. Validate queries, analysis, and drafts before enabling governed execution.
  5. Measure efficiency, quality, risk, and adoption.
  6. Extend validated connections, models, and workflows to adjacent scenarios.

Success is not merely an interface returning a response. It is business meaning that stays clear, capabilities that can be reused, permissions that remain complete, outcomes that can be traced, and modernization that costs less over time.
